Auplata is one of the leading producers of gold in French Guiana and the largest employer in the Guianese mining industry.

Auplata currently exploits two gold mines, called Dieu Merci and Yaou, and will open a third gold mine, called Dorlin, in 2007. In total, Auplata has mining permits and licenses covering over 300 sq km.

Auplata has a workforce of 148, with 130 people based at the mines and 16 at the company’s head office in Cayenne (October 2006).

In 2006, Auplata produced 506kg of fine gold (+99 %) and posted revenues of EUR 7.8 million, up 183% on 2005.
